Album Recycling Program

OUR ‘ALBUM RECYCLING PROGRAM’ IS A BETA PROGRAM; THIS MEANS WE ARE STILL WORKING ON IMPROVING AND PERFECTING ALL LOGISTICS OF THIS NEW FEATURE. 

AT THIS TIME, WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF EMPTY K-POP ALBUMS. UNTIL OUR PROGRAM HAS BEEN BETTER TESTED AND EVOLVED, WE WIlL BE UPDATING THE TERMS AS TIME ALLOWS. WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING! 

When purchasing your albums from our ongoing ‘Fansign Events’, fans will be given the option to purchase ‘Inclusion Only’ albums. What this means is that the fan will receive all inclusions (i.e.Photocards, stickers, folded poster, etc.; whatever is listed as ‘inclusion’ in the album description), without the hassle of receiving extra photobooks. The fan will still be entered into the fancall raffle and still have their sale be counted towards the charts!

How will my extra photobooks/albums be used?

Sorting & Upcycling

  • After the inclusions have been removed from the photobook, the photobook will remain in our warehouse for recycling and repurposing activities. This means that the photobook components (otherwise seen as ‘waste’), will be upcycled and repurposed for internal activities.
  • For example: undamaged and sturdier components will be used as re-purposed packing materials for CupidPop purchases. 
  • Depending on the condition of the photobook, your recycled photo book may be used for future album displays in our stores! To ensure that everyone is able to receive a copy of their favorite album, our staff would upcycle the photobooks to prevent opening new ones for the display.

Outsourced & Donated

  • Unwanted photobooks may also be kept in storage for a future K-pop themed in-person event. 
  • Events such as in-person trading, journaling, decorating, and the like, may use your unwanted photo books to help garner the fun!
  • For photobooks in perfect condition, they will be sourced to each of our in-store locations as ‘freebies’ for any guests who visit any of our store’s unboxing locations. We understand that buying albums may be a luxury and not everyone will want the inclusions - thus, by creating this option, we provide accessible non-monetary means to obtain an album of your favorite idol(s).
  • While we do not want to restrict any fans from taking these extra photobooks, we ask that the community be considerate of others in the same position before deciding which albums they would like to take home!

Recycled & Reprinted

If our staff find that a photobook is damaged or not in the appropriate condition needed for the above, the item will be properly disposed of at one of our local recycling facilities in the Lower Mainland. If not at the facilities, our recycling partners for our stores and warehouse will ensure that the extra unusable items are disposed of appropriately.
